Sparkbrook Deep Cleaning for Terraced Homes and Restaurant Kitchens
Most deep cleaning in this ward is a one-off reset on a small nineteenth-century terrace. The kitchen sits in a narrow rear extension with little through ventilation, the bathroom above it rarely gets the chance to dry out, and grease and mould build up in exactly those two rooms. What people want is a single full reset, quoted as one firm figure, with nothing to cancel afterwards.
Ladypool Road and the streets folded around it also hold a real cluster of kitchens cooking at high heat all evening, and high heat turns cooking oil into an aerosol that lands on the walls, tiling, ceiling and floor around a range. We deep clean those surfaces, the prep areas and the outside of the canopy. The canopy interior and the ductwork are a specialist trade and not something we offer. Where a restaurant does not open until the evening, an 8am start leaves the day to clean the kitchen and hand it back before service.

Where grease and mould build up in Sparkbrook kitchens and bathrooms
Two different jobs share one postcode. In the terraced houses the trouble is a cramped rear kitchen with almost no through ventilation, where grease settles on cupboard tops, tiling and the cooker gap, plus a bathroom that never gets to dry out, with mould rooted into grout and sealant. In a restaurant kitchen the oil travels through the air before it lands, so it coats the tiling and ceiling above the range, the outside of the canopy and the floor, and a wipe round the visible steel touches very little of it. The supply reaching this city off the Elan Valley is soft, so limescale rarely comes into it. It is oil, and it is mould.
- Narrow rear kitchens in terraced houses, poorly ventilated, holding an oven nobody has opened up in years
- One small bathroom that rarely dries out, where a soft supply rules scale out and leaves mould in the sealant
- Ceiling and wall tiling directly above a restaurant cooking line, where aerosolised oil settles and then bakes hard
- Quarry and vinyl floors under the range, where oil, flour and spice residue bind into a film a mop only spreads
- The outside of restaurant canopies and the steel around them, where oil settles and dulls every surface
Kitchen first in a terrace, walls and floors in a restaurant
In a house we start in the kitchen, move to the bathroom, then work outwards room by room, and we finish in one day so the household gets the property straight back. Commercial work is planned around the trading day, inside our own hours: the outside of the canopy and the tiling and ceiling over the line first, then the prep surfaces and equipment fronts, then the floor and its drainage channel at the very end. We photograph the kitchen before and after, which gives you a record for your own files.
- Household resets completed inside one visit: kitchen first, then the bathroom, then every other room
- Canopy exteriors, tiling and the ceiling over the cooking line degreased from the top, before anything below them
- Floor and drainage channel degreased at the very end, once everything above them has stopped dripping
- Before and after photographs of a restaurant kitchen, so you have a dated record of the clean

Ladypool Road kitchens and the terraces behind them
The commercial half of this sits in the Balti Triangle and along the Stratford Road corridor. Visits run Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm and Saturday 9am to 6pm, and a kitchen that only trades later in the day can be cleaned from an 8am start and handed back before service. Our Selly Oak base in B29 is about twenty minutes away. The household half is scattered through the terraced grid around Christ Church and Farm Park, often forty feet from a working restaurant. Everything is on-street, so kit goes in at the kerb and the van is then moved off.
What sets the figure for a Balti Triangle kitchen or a B12 terrace
A household reset is priced as one fixed figure from photographs of the kitchen and bathroom, and it moves with the size of the house, the state of the oven and how far mould has rooted into the silicone. A restaurant kitchen is quoted on the wall and ceiling area around the line, the length of canopy to wipe down, the floor area behind the line, and how long has passed since anybody last cleaned it back to the surface. A first clean on a kitchen left two years takes noticeably longer than the visit that follows it, and the quote shows that from the start. Regular visits keep each clean shorter, which suits a kitchen far better than one heavy clean a year.
A yearly reset for the houses, quarterly for busy kitchens
Household deep cleans in this ward are usually annual, or bought at a turnaround, and on a small terrace that is a sensible rhythm. A busy Balti Triangle kitchen suits a deep clean of walls, ceiling and floor quarterly, with the daily wipe-down kept up by the kitchen in between. Somewhere frying continuously right through the evening is nearer a six-week cycle.
Charles was great. He was very professional and did a great job.

Frequently asked questions
Only the outside of the canopy. The canopy interior and the ductwork are a specialist trade with its own certificate, and we do not offer them. We clean the outside of the canopy, the tiling and ceiling around it, the prep areas and the floor, and we can tell you what we saw so you can brief a specialist.
Usually. Visits run within Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm and Saturday 9am to 6pm. For a restaurant that opens later in the evening, we start at 8am with the ranges cold and hand the kitchen back before service, with nothing left dismantled when we go. If one weekday is your closed day, that is the easiest slot of all.
Yes, and often more so than a bigger one. A cramped rear kitchen concentrates everything: the cooker stands close to the wall, the extractor vents badly or nowhere at all, and the grease has no room to disperse. Small rooms also take less time to clean properly, so a full reset on a Sparkbrook terrace is among the smaller jobs we quote.
No, it is mould. This city is fed from the Elan Valley reservoirs and the supply is soft, so mineral deposit barely registers here. What you have is fungus living inside silicone that gets no chance to dry in a small bathroom used by a lot of people. Surface growth washes away. Once it has rooted down into the bead, the silicone has to be cut out and renewed, which is a repair rather than a clean.
Whichever you tell us to. Where a home is rented, a deep clean is often ordered by a landlord or a managing agency and billed straight to them, and we are set up for that. Where the household is paying, the number is fixed before we start so nobody opens a bill they were not expecting.
