Rubery House Cleaning Either Side of the County Boundary
Rubery is about twenty minutes out, so a first visit within the week is usually possible, and a regular slot then stays on the same weekday. These are 1960s and 70s private semis and detached houses built around the car, which means a driveway at almost every address. Practically, that is the difference between arriving with everything and ferrying kit from a space two streets away, and it is one reason a standing slot in Rubery holds its time.
The county boundary runs straight through the settlement, so part of Rubery is Birmingham and part is Bromsgrove in Worcestershire. It affects your bin day and your council tax and nothing else. We quote in exactly the same way on either side, so the county line never enters the conversation.

Utilities, cloakrooms and conservatories a bedroom count misses
The two things that bring people here to a regular clean are the shape of the house and the stage of life. A great deal of this stock has been owner-occupied since it was built, and a house with a through lounge, a conservatory, a utility off the garage and a downstairs cloakroom is more property than its owners want to keep on top of long before they would consider leaving it. That layout is also why a quote given down the phone from a bedroom count tends to be wrong. The utility is usually the room doing the real work: coats, boots, the second freezer and, more often than not, the dog.
- Long-settled owner-occupiers who want the house kept up rather than periodically rescued
- Conservatories, utilities off the garage and downstairs cloakrooms adding rooms a bedroom count never captures
- Utility and rear lobby taking coats, boots and the dog, so they need doing on every single visit
- Integral garages converted into a room or a home office, quietly adding floor that the original 1960s plan never had
- Households on the Worcestershire side, quoted on exactly the same basis as the Birmingham half
- Working families in the larger detached houses wanting key access and the same weekday each time
Hours where they earn their keep, starting from the garage door
We go through the property with you before the first visit and settle the scope room by room, and in Rubery that conversation always covers the conservatory and the utility, because people assume one of them is excluded. Then the day and the written scope stay fixed. Hours go where they earn their keep, not spread evenly across bedrooms nobody sleeps in, which in these houses generally means the kitchen, the stairs and whichever bathroom is actually in use. If you give us a key in a safe or a door code, you do not need to be in.
- A written room-by-room scope that puts the conservatory and the utility explicitly in or out
- The same weekday each visit, agreed at the start and moved only if you ask
- The van on your own driveway, so nothing is carried in from down the road
- The garage-to-kitchen route treated as part of the visit, since that is how boots, shopping and the dog get into the house
- Key or keysafe access as standard, with the house secured again before we leave

Both sides of the boundary, quoted the same way
We cover the streets off New Road, the roads around Callowbrook Park, the older pocket near St Chad’s and the addresses climbing towards the Lickeys on the Bromsgrove side, all quoted on the same basis. A standing slot here can be kept week in, week out through the year. Tell us which weekday suits and the slot stays there.
Rooms, not bedrooms, set a B45 visit
A regular clean is priced by the visit on the time your property needs, and it does not move between visits. In Rubery the figure is set by rooms rather than bedrooms: a conservatory, a utility and a cloakroom together can add the better part of an hour to what looks on paper like an ordinary three-bedroom semi. Hard flooring through a hall and a through lounge takes longer than carpet, not less. Being on the Worcestershire side makes no difference to the quote. Ironing is quoted on top if you want it.
Fortnightly for most, weekly with dogs and an open conservatory
Fortnightly fits most households in B45 and the way these houses are used. Weekly earns its place in the larger family houses, particularly where there are dogs and a conservatory door that stands open all summer. Monthly works where the day-to-day is already yours and you want the kitchen, the stairs and the bathrooms done properly. Whatever you choose is not on a minimum term, so it can drop for a hard month and come back up.

Frequently asked questions
No. The boundary runs through the middle of Rubery and we treat all of B45 as one area, quoted the same way. Whether your address is Birmingham City Council or Bromsgrove District changes your bin collection, not your cleaning quote, and booking works the same way on both sides.
Yes. After the first visit a regular clean stays on the weekday you choose and at roughly the same hour, moved only if you ask. B45 is roughly twenty minutes each way from Selly Oak, so the first slot can usually be found within the week. Tell us which days suit and we will start from there.
Only if we agree it at the start, and we always ask. Floors, internal glass, frames and sills take real time, and a conservatory used as a dining room needs it every visit while one storing garden furniture does not. Either way it goes into the written scope so nobody is guessing three months on.
We bring our own, as standard. If you would rather we used yours, because of an allergy, a pet or a particular floor finish, that is fine and it goes in the scope. What we will not do is mix somebody else’s bottles into a house with a finish that cannot take them.
No. If you give us a key in a safe or a door code, you do not need to be in, and an earlier slot becomes easier to offer. If you would prefer to be in, we will work around that.
