Perry Barr Cleaning, from Games Village Flats to Interwar Semis
Perry Barr has changed fast in the last few years. The Perry Barr Residential Scheme has put a large number of new homes on the former Commonwealth Games Village site, in mixed tenure, alongside the interwar and post-war semis that make up the rest of B42. That makes for two very different kinds of cleaning in one postcode: brand-new apartments and houses on one side, and long-standing family suburbia on the other.
Birmingham City University closed its City North campus here in 2018, so the demand is residential and commercial, with no academic-year churn. The need now is handover cleans on the new builds, communal work for managing agents, and steady domestic cleaning in the older streets. The two halves of Perry Barr rarely want the same job at the same time.
We are based in Selly Oak, about 28 minutes from Perry Barr.
New apartments on the Games Village site beside older B42 semis
Two distinct specifications sit side by side. The older stock is interwar and post-war semi-detached suburban housing lining the roads off the A34, with bay windows, driveways, rear gardens and a good number of later extensions, all fairly forgiving to clean and easy to get a van to. The new quarter is another matter. Apartments and houses completed from 2022 onwards mean communal entrances, shared stairwells, lifts, bin stores and cycle stores, plus the specific work that new buildings generate: plaster dust in the corners of a supposedly finished flat, protective film residue on glass, and a handover deadline that does not move. Because the tenure is mixed, the person booking might be a private owner, a managing agent for a block or a housing provider, and each wants a different paper trail. The one thing every property here shares is the A34. The flyover came down in 2021 but the traffic did not, and anything with a main-road frontage films over noticeably faster than a house tucked into a side street.

Conservatory Cleaning in Perry Barr
Rear conservatories added to the interwar semis, soft-washed with the frames and the small conservatory gutter; the new-build homes rarely have one.
Oven cleaning and other jobs people ask about in Perry Barr
Ovens are cleaned as part of a deep clean or an end of tenancy clean, not as a separate call-out. We do not offer roof cleaning, graffiti removal or upholstery cleaning, so for those you will need a specialist.
What owners, agents and providers in Perry Barr each need
On the new-build side, a handover clean is a specific job with a date attached. Post-construction cleaning is not a domestic clean done harder: it is dust removal in stages, glass and frames cleared of film and adhesive, and every surface checked before a handover inspection. We work to a completion date with a site or agent contact as readily as with a homeowner. On the communal side, blocks want a predictable schedule for entrances, stairwells and bin stores, and an invoice that arrives on time. The older streets want the ordinary things: a regular domestic clean, windows every few weeks, a drive done in spring. Bookings from both halves are grouped on the same set days, so a small job in B42 is as easy to book as a large one.
That takes in Alexander Stadium, the One Stop Shopping Centre and Perry Hall Park, and the streets between them.

Perry Barr questions
Frequently asked questions
Yes. Post-construction and handover cleaning is a big part of what the new B42 homes need: staged dust removal, film and adhesive off glass and frames, and a final check against the handover list. We work to the completion date you give us.
We can. Entrances, stairwells, lifts, corridors, bin and cycle stores on a fixed weekly or fortnightly schedule, with one invoice for the block.
No. BCU closed its City North campus in 2018, so tenancies here end through the year. Demand is residential and commercial, and move-out cleans are booked to each handover date as it comes.
More often than a side street, realistically every four weeks. Traffic on that stretch puts a film on glass and uPVC quickly, and a regular booking keeps it looking right far better than an occasional big clean.
Yes, it can affect parking and traffic on the day, so if you know an event is on it helps to say when you book and we will schedule around it.
Yes. Block paving, concrete and tarmac, with re-sanding quoted separately where the joints need it. Once a year in spring suits most drives here.
